Bounced Emails - Where do they go?

Is there any new information available?  We have had to use an outside service because so many of our emails are bouncing.  New email service has advised me once email is bounced, email address is no longer valid to send.  Problem is many of these are our customers who purchase from us but will not receive any of our future email offers. 

Would really prefer sending email blasts in Netsuite but have had no satisfactory answers from Support.  Can anyone help?
