Can't get PO# in Email Template

I'm trying to get the PO# in an email template for Item Fulfillments. The PO# field is available <NLOTHERREFNUM>, but it always comes up blank. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is is possible to get to fields that aren't listed in the list of available fields in the template?
