Send campaign emails at intervals, not on dates

I would like to set up a campaign to be assigned to new leads as they are entered into n/s. The campaign would include a series of events: emails, direct mail, telephone calls, and so on. These events would occur at certain intervals after the create date of the record, for example, 7 days, 14 days, and so on. The point, of course, is to follow up the lead automatically.

NetSuite support says that n/s does not have the capability to set events at intervals, it will only execute events on specified dates. I had a hint in another thread that maybe SuiteScripts can handle events in this way. I am not a programmer, but would be glad to hire someone to do this, if it's possible.
