Importing items--Item type and subtype

I'm trying to import items, and it doesn't recognize the item type, despite the fact I'm using one of the options listed on the template. I keep getting the message that the data conversion failed:

Invalid item type [0 ? Non-Inventory] for item [EHIL05A0001]

Please help?
