CSV Import w/ Auto-Numbering
We have recently found several positive reasons why we would want to use the Auto-Numbering function for accounts in NetSuite. However, because of the limitations of CSV importing it may not make sense, so we are trying to get a better understanding.
I was wandering if anyone has a workaround or solution to this problem. When a Company Name exists in NetSuite with Auto-Numbering turned on, you cannot import a Contact CSV unless the Contact CSV file maps to the Auto-generated number in the Company field.
This makes absolutely no sense because the Netsuite Auto-Generated Number exists only inside of NetSuite not from whatever source (trade show, website, partner) we are getting contact leads from. Often times a company will already exist in our system, but a new contact from that company will come in as a lead. Thus we have absolutely no way of importing it unless we first go and look up the Auto-generated ID/Name.
