version 2007 import custom records

I haven't found a way to enable this feature.  After I submitted a case, "Custom Records" appeared as a choice in my import wizard.

I don't think that one can successfully make this work.  Here's an email exchange:

1. See my earlier follow-up
2. Yes, it’s there, but it doesn’t work:
     a. Navigate to the import assistant
     b. Select custom record
     c. Select a specific custom record, e.g. test_custom_record
     d. Browse to the CSV file – I’ve attached one based on the template provided.
     e. Try the Next button.  Did it allow you to go on?  No?  Well, here’s a trick:
