Can't Import Sub Item / Category

Trying desperately to import a new vendor file to import into our line, but get this error every time I try to import:

Invalid Subitem of reference key BCS

I have categories setup as parent items, ID is BCS and description is Bar Code Scanners, I have tried importing into "sub item of" to no avail. I have also tried putting a ":" after but nothing seems to work and can't find any documentation on it.

Any help appreciated...
