Stumped on AutoFill function

Hi All,

Our Data entry department creates only one type of Item. It is for a Child in our Sponsorship program. 
I am using JavaScript to autofill a bunch of the fields on the form. (Department, Activity, Status...)
I want to fill in the Center# for them as well.

The Child's ID is a 9 digit code; ie: 320-042-0430
320-042 is the Center# where the child is located
0430 is the Child's Identifier.

I have a custom record type call Center Information:
Internal__Name_____Centre#____Centre Name
ID
18_______320-035_____320-035_____Panhux
31_______320-037_____320-037_____San Cristobal
19_______320-038_____320-038_____Panzal
20_______320-042_____320-042_____Chipozo
