Could scripts do this?

I am interested in Netsuite performing two operation "automatically" and am wondering if server scripts are the way to do this.

The first thing I want to do is run a script nightly that would look at all fulfilled, UPS-shipped sales orders from the past week, query UPS for their status, and update a custom field in each sales order accordingly.

The second thing I want to do is poll each of these same records, find the ones who's UPS status=delivered and send an email to the customer.

Are these operations candidates for server scripts?
