Form elements in IE 6

I am using a list box in an form in a custom portlet to provide easy access to a set of custom records. I am generating this form using the objPortlet.writeLine() method. The system works great on FireFox but it seems to mess up the menu selection functionality in NetSuite when using IE 6. Basically when the custom portlet is shown the menu dropdowns prevent the user from selecting item in the dropdown. Any ideas?
