Client script on quote and sales order

I have a client script that copies item information to a tab with custom fields on a quote or sales order.  The script runs post sourcing on my form but it does not work if the item is created through the pop-up item form.  I have tried trapping using validate line, recalc, and field changed.  No luck.  Any help would be appreciated.
