Adding an existing Contact to a Customer

Hi,

Is there any way to add an *existing* Contact to a new customer? I'm trying to code a button that would create a sub-customer, and assign to that sub-customer much of the basic info from the parent, including the parent's contacts. Is there any way, be it on the Customer record or the Contact record, to associate the contact to the customer?
