SuiteScripts failures in Beta 2007.0

It seems the beta is completely unhelpful to test SuiteScripts.  The servers are SO SLOW that scripts that take 2-3 seconds in Production take 200-300 seconds in beta.

I understand that the beta servers are not tweaked for performance because of cost considerations, but how are we supposed to test anything if they ALWAYS time out?

May I suggest we turn off the script execution time governance, or increase it by a factor of 10 or more?  I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to use the beta to thoroughly test our customization, but currently it is unusable.
