getting COGS from line item on sales order

i want to use suitescript to derive the profitability of an inventory item sold on a sales order - i can see how i might follow a line item on a sales order to the fulfillment but how would i then get to the figure shown in the UI on the "GL impact" page?

my aim is to link sales orders to jobs and show the profitability of the inventory items associated with the Job...

any ideas?
