Is Recalc supposed to fire during Save?

Can anybody tell me if Recalc is supposed to be triggered during Save?  Because it appears to be doing exactly that, and since I have a script that's broken (which wasn't broken before the upgrade to 2007.1), I'm just wondering if this could be the reason. 

I also noticed this thread, which said there was going to be a fix made to Recalc in the maintenance release: https://usergroup.netsuite.com/users/showthread.php?t=7747
