How I start a suitlet ?

I have had a lot of sucess using client and server scripts to aid workflow.
Now I would like to look at improving some of the front end 'stuff' - which I seem to be able to do with suitlets - which lets me create NS style pages.

What i want to do, from within NS,  is create a 'pop up window' that presents some NS info and requests some user input and then, dependant on choice, redirect to a specific form. How can I 'pop-up' this window using suitlets - basically how do I trigger a page from ns? All help appreciated.
