Field Change Functions

Hi Guys/Gals

Is it possible using the Field Change Function to force the user to remain in the the current field until a valid value is entered. I figured that returning false, would do this, but, it doesn't. Is this a simple case of getting confused between the changed and validate functions or should changed work in the same way?

Am i right in thinking that with Validate Field, I CAN force the user to enter a valid value before moving on?
