Issue with native field Percent Complete in the Job

Hi,

I am not able to get the value of the native Percent Complete field on the Job via User Event Script.I am getting null for this field,even if there is value.

        percent_complete  = parseFloat(job.getValue('percentcomplete'));

Does anyone have this similar issue?
Any help is appreciated.
