Working with tab, Item Fulfillment

I am trying to calculate the total weight for an Item fulfillment.
The weight info can be found under the Packages tab.
I really need some help how to count the number of line items and retrieve
the weight value.

Here is what I did so far:

var recordIF = nlapiLoadRecord('itemfulfillment', 1234);
itemCount = recordIF.getLineItemCount('item');

alert('weight: ' + recordIF.getLineItemValue('item', 'weight', 1));

==> weight == null

I just don't know how to get access to the weight field

Any hint is greatly appreciate.
