Calculating Count of Sales Order

Hi Guys,

I'm sure this is a pretty simple task - any help much appreciated.

We send out a free gift with each order.  When a customer's SO >1 we would like to send out a different gift.

I would like to place on the Picking Ticket the 'count' of Sales Orders that the customer has made with us.

Evan mentioned that this is achievable with SuiteScripts.  Could any one please point me in the right direction?
