public SuiteLet and INSUFFICIENT_PERMISSION

I'm developing a SuiteLet that will handle POST operations to create new leads.  The lead creation works fine and I just added code to create a phone call record and I'm getting an  INSUFFICIENT_PERMISSION error.

I'm sure I'm missing something... but how is it I can create a lead, assign sales rep, department, lead source, etc. yet I can't create and attach a phone call record?

Error Code: INSUFFICIENT_PERMISSION
Error Data: Permission Violation: You need  the 'Lists -> Phone Calls' permission to access this page. Please contact your account administrator.
