nlapiCreateError notification

The API doc for this function states:


suppressNotification {boolean} [optional] - If true (defaults to false) then the error email notification is suppressed. Important: The values for this parameter can be true or false, not T or F.



However, it does not seem to send the message (at least in my testing) unless you actually throw the error object in the JS.  Was this as expected or am I doing something wrong?
