Suitescript to pull previous items purchased

I have been looking into providing a new tab on the Sales Order form that will display all items previously purchased by the customer selected. This is currently available on the Customer's Record, but not on the Sales Order.

I am aware that it will involve using the selected customer as a filter for a saved search that runs from a Suitescript, but I have not used Suitescript in conjuction with searches before. Any suggestions?
