Calendar date search in script

I am writing something to display all resources in one view - works well but I use a static search and to speed it up I would like to use a dynamic search BUT I need a date filter - on the static search I can set the date range but there seems to be no scriptable field for this - only startdate (which returns a script with recurrance details!! )
Anyone know what field id I need to set to do date 'within' a range ?
