Change entity status changes type AFTER DB write completes

I *think* I just found the cause of a major problem I've been having and I thought I would share with others in case you have encountered this or some day do.

I was getting script errors like:

Script Exception OccurredThe record you are attempting to load has a different type: customer from the  type specified: lead.

The code throwing the error was invoked from an AfterSubmit UE script.

The scenario that causes the problem is this:

Lead record

Change status to CUSTOMER - Closed/Won

Save

Script gets an instance of the record with nlapiGetNewRecord

Script needs a writable copy so it loads the record using the type and id from the result of nlapiGetNewRecord
The problem is that nlapiGetNewRecord().getRecordType() returns 'lead' but actually NetSuite has changed the type to 'customer'.  So when you try to load the record using 'lead' as the type is throws the error.
