To retrieve data like a webpage

Yang,

I know nlapiGetFieldValue('custentity_gender')

is to get the value on the online form.



But I want to get the data from the existing customer record in NetSuite, it means to retrieve the data from NetSuite.
Can I do that in costom code of the HTML online form ?
