Call URL / saved search from a suitlet to dispaly results

Can anyone tell me how to call a saved search within a suitlet. Bascially I am running a block of code and when that is finished I want to call a saved search to dispaly. I was thinking about callig the search using the url but am not sure how to do this or if it is even possible?
