Item ID from Item Name

Simple question

I am trying to create a sales order with line items prepopulated.

I have the item name (which is obviously unique) but netsuite wants the items internal ID, is there an easy way to script this.  I can obviously find the items internal id in netsuite but I need the script to do this for me.  Surely I don't have to do a 5 line long search or load the record or something?
