Save a quote with a custom button

Hi,

I am needing to save a quote and allow it to continue to be edited based on clicking a custom button.

This is to allow committing current changes to the quote and sending the data to another system via an integration process.

I cannot figure out how to 'save' a quote via the client script.  nlapiSubmitRecord needs the record's nlobjRecord object, but I don't thing I have that explicitly available via the client scripting.

Has anyone accomplished this?  I've been looking for a past thread, but not having much luck.

Any suggestions or examples would be really helpful.
