Help with very simple script!

Hi there.

I was hoping someone would be able to help me out by giving me (what I assume will be) a very simple script?

The problem I'm having is that we have set up a custom Department field which we use on almost all records (customer, transactions).  It was created so we could have the field default to the users set Department to save entry errors etc.  We are now encountering a problem because the standard Netsuite Department field has been disabled on most forms and is reeking havoc with our reporting.  I'm hoping for a simple script that takes the value from our custom field and populates the standard Netsuite field.  Or even to make the standard Netsuite field read off the User's
