nlapiSearchRecord returning more thant 1000

I have a saved search that returns over 1000 results but I know that nlapiSearchRecord results are limited to 1000 rows.

Is there a way to access search results beyond the first thousand? Something similar to searchNext in web services? Any help would be appreciated.
