Are revenue commitments scriptable?

Hello,

Does anyone know if revenue commitments are scriptable? I didn't see it in the help documentation. Ideally I would like to automatically generate a commitment on sales order approval (maybe through a transform API?) Don't know if that is possible but that would go a long way to help us automate our revenue process.
