Shipping quote customization

My company is implementing Netsuite.

One of our key "competitive advantages" is our shipping charges -- we have built a robust Ship Quote Server outside of Netsuite that can look at the contents of a customer's order and return a list of shipping services / prices / transit times.

We would like to integrate Netsuite with our Ship Quote Server. Our server is written in Python, and has an XML-RPC interface. It could be easily adapted to JSON-RPC, or SOAP, etc.

Given my limited knowledge, this is my (possibly half-baked) idea of integrating Netsuite with our Ship Quote Server:
