Assistant Script - posting data back

edited Dec 2, 2019 6:06PM in SuiteCloud / Customization 4 comments

I am trying to create an Assistant that will make a new item in the first step and then make a purchase order for that item in the next step. The user will enter only a few fields on each step.

I create the item with no problem when the first step is posted. What I can't figure out is how to pass a reference to the internal ID of that item back to the next assistant step. I need to be able to add it to the PO in the next step.

Has anyone tried to do this? The documentation and sample for the assistants is pretty detailed but they don't seem to cover this anywhere. They mention using a custom record to store session data but don't describe how you would interact with the custom record.

Howdy, Stranger!
