Creating a Button to Change a Custom Field Value
I'd like to add a button within the View mode of a sales order that when clicked changes a value in a custom field on that sales order. How can I do that? I'm a complete newbie to customizations like this.
My scenario is that I've created a status field called Business Unit Approval on the SO. It's a drop-down box with two values "Pending Approval" (default) and "Approved". I'd like to be able to click a button called "BU Approved" on the View mode screen that changes the status from Pending Approval to Approved. This will allow the approver to simply view the SO and push the button without having to go to Edit mode, manually change the field and click Save.
