form.addField to a Field Group

I have a script that adds fields to a form.  Now that 2010.2 has Field Groups, it would be nice to be able to specify the Field Group to add the new field to.  Looking at the help, it appears the API has not been changed to address this.

Is there a way to accomplish this?
