Change button name in Form

Hello All,

I have a suitescript client side that is run on page init function when a form on a custom record is opened via the customer portal. I am trying to change the name of the save button to another name but am finding this difficult, any help would be appreciated.

I have tried the following but it does not change the name of the button

document.getElementById('tbl_submitter').innerHTML = 'newbuttonname';
