Populating a custom field when an invoice is fulfilled

Hi,

We are starting a rewards program and I would like to have a custom field on the Customer card to where when an invoice is fulfilled, the number of items shipped is added to that custom field.

Basically it will act like a counter to keep track of how many items they have ordered and received.

I am hoping someone can push me in the right direction. Thanks!

EDIT: And as a side note, would it be possible to when an online customer form is submitted, that number from the custom field could be inserted into an email template and be sent off to them?
