Can the Print Items status for groups be changed dynamically

I have an Item type of Group which contains a number of items that I use for quotes & sales orders. In the group item there is a check box setting called 'Print Items' which determines whether or not the Items within the group get printed or not. Is it possible to update the printitems value for the group on the fly via suitescript which will allow users to choose if individual group items get printed or not? Is this possible?
