Problem adding date using nlapiAddDays with date format 'DD/MM/YYYY'

Hi,

Currently I am using date format preference 'DD/MM/YYYY', I'm facing problem in suitescript if I am using nlapiAddDays it return value not adding the day but adding the month.

so if I add 1 to "1/6/2012" (1 June 2012) the result is 7 January 2012.

does anyone know how to resolve this?
