What's the best way to track downloads from file cabinet?
All:
Is there any clever way to script (or even use clever searching) so that I can track the number of times a file (or, perhaps more specifically, a download item) has been downloaded? I'm told there's an enhancement in place to have that functionality directly accessible from the item, but I'm wondering if anyone's had a creative solution to this.
Worst case, I can have these files hosted outside of NetSuite and use analytics on that end.
The case I'm looking at now is our IT department wants to start selling eBooks through NetSuite, but wants to use a model where you purchase one item, receive all of the formats, but then track the individual downloads of each type. The piece I'm sticking on right now is how to provide the metrics on specific file downloads.
