Searching a custom record by the "name" field
When you do an ultra-simple search of a custom record, like this:
filt.push(new nlobjSearchFilter('name', null, 'is', searchKey)); col.push(new nlobjSearchColumn('name')); col.push(new nlobjSearchColumn('created')); results = nlapiSearchRecord('customrecord_sea_hunit', null, filt, col);It doesn't work. Never has. What's worse it doesn't fail, it just lies to you and returns null.
Second problem:
I've been working around this by having the name field copied to the external id field, but even though the "contains" operator is supported for all simple field types, it is not supported for the external id. Go figure. This results in "
