Trigger Map/Reduce from a 1.0 script

Has anyone tried to trigger a map/reduce script using a 1.0 script? We have a scenario where a map/reduce script needs to start immediately after a legacy 1.0 script completes. Ideally we just want to rewrite the 1.0 legacy piece in 2.0 but with time constraints we would really like to take advantage of the increased throughput of 2.0 map/reduce for the new functionality we added to the end of the process.
