inconsistent permission requirements

If I don't want a specific custom sublist to show for some roles I just limit the permissions on the record and that sublist will not be displayed on the customer record.  If my user presses the Print button they will get a permission violation.

Anyone encounter this bug?  Is there a way to control what is displayed on the results of the "Print" form?
