Custom item field - id
We are new to NetSuite. When defining a custom item field, my reflex is to customize the system generated id to avoid confusion of having id's of custitem1, custitem2.... I do not see any negative consequences of this, are there? For imports is the custom item field - id referenced? We understand for a potential java script having a custom item field id that is recognizable makes sense.
Just asking, it is a pretty basic question, but we are trying to avoid a got you situation. It would be helpful to know if others just routinely make the field name and custom item field the same.
