How to use a checkbox in a formula?

Hello,

Simple question: How do I use the value of a checkbox in a formula? Basically, I want a simple formula that says if the checkbox is checked, I need to treat its value as $25, otherwise 0$. There are other things I'm adding to value in the formula field, but I need a way to treat the checkbox value as a 1 or a zero essentially.
