New selection in the dropdown does not get saved

Hope someone can provide me some tips quick:

Under Accounting->Item

one of the subtab has some dropdown menu, the thing is I tried to change the selection and save. However, the new selection did not get saved, it went back to the old selection.

Are there any other config that prevent me saving the new selection???
