Custom field formula question

I have a customer record I use as a scorecard.  It has numerous numeric fields on it.  I have a custom field on the scorecard record that uses a formula to total all the numeric fields and give me a total score.  That is all working fine.

The scorecards are attached to Contact records and I allow multiple scorecards per contact.  What I am trying to do now is use a formula to show the average score across all the attached scorecards in a custom field on a Contact record.  Can someone help with the formula?  Is it even possible?
