Default to Item Subtab instead of Expense Subtab of Purchase Order on Item Tab

I cannot find a solution for this on the Forum, sorry if this is a duplicate.

I want to make it so that when an employee starts creating a Purchase Request/Purchase Order the default or initial subtab on the "Items" tab is set to "Item" instead of "Expense".  I currently have a script that is modifying the DOM, but that is frowned upon by NS support.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
