Searching for Customers without Tasks entered in last X months

Use case: Identify customers without a task created in the last 12 months, preferably as a dashboard KPI.

Any suggestions on how this might be done using a customer search?  Limiting results based on the Task’s Creation Date is not effective since customers with recent tasks (less than 12 months old) can also have old tasks which cause them to match the criteria.
